Patient and Family Educational Videos

The ‘Patient and Family Stories’ video series provides an opportunity to capture individual patient stories and experiences related to bone marrow and stem cell transplant in order to produce educational patient videos for CTTC patients, family members, caregivers and healthcare professionals. Educational Events for Patients and Caregivers

The CTTC hosts a variety of educational events for patients and their caregivers, on topics such as nutrition, emotional well-being, exercise, sexuality after transplant, and more.

Educational Symposia
In-person events for patients, their caregivers, and medical practitioners to interact, discuss, ask questions, and receive information. 

These events are often live webcast for patients and caregivers from across Canada to attend online, and are recorded and available on the CTTC website.

Educational Webinars

Interactive sessions hosted via the internet that patients and their caregivers can attend from the comfort of their own home via their computer or telephone.

Want to be involved?
Patient and Family Special Interest Group 

The patient and family special interest group (SIG) was established in 2016, and includes patients and caregivers from across Canada. The purpose of this group is to:

  • Provide patients and families opportunities to collaborate and voice their input to the stem cell transplant community
  • Identify best practices and gaps related to pre-, during- and post-transplant support and services 
  • Identify the needs of stem cell transplant patients and families
  • Advocate for support and service programs locally, provincially, and nationally

 Benefits of being part of the Patient and Family SIG:

  • Attend monthly calls to connect with other patients and caregivers and discuss items of interest to each member
  • Participate in planning patient and caregiver events hosted by the CTTC, such as educational symposia and webinars
  • Assist in identifying patient and caregiver needs and how the CTTC can meet those needs

CTTC Discussion Forum
The discussion forum is a portal for patients and caregivers to reach out and connect with other individuals in Canada undergoing transplant. Via the forum you can ask questions, share stories, and provide or receive support. Please click here to participate.
